Welcome to the BPMHG website.

Our aims can be summarised as follows:

    To promote the importance of mental health issues in paediatric practice.
    To promote the importance of paediatricians in the delivery of child mental health services.
    To promote the development  training opportunities for paediatricans in mental health.
    To foster closer, more productive links with related professional groups.

We have several practical roles:

    Running an annual residential conference, which provides a small, intimate much valued safe place to share controversial and difficult issues through presentations and workshops.
    We run an academic sub section at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health annual scientific meeting.
    We are represented on a wide range of committees within paediatrics and associated specialties.We contribute to national consultations e.g. NICE guidance

Who is in the BPMHG?

We have members from all over the UK. Many of our members are paediatricians, but we also have substantial representation from psychiatry and psychology. There is also an executive committee, who oversee the running of the BPMHG. Click here for the details of who is on the committee.     The Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health
    The British Association of General Paediatricians
